BVSD School Board Implemented .....

Wilson, Fundations® for foundational reading skill development in K-1.  Heinemann, Fountas & Pinnell Classroom™ for the literature based component of reading instruction for grades k-2.

Starting with a pilot program, all kindergartners will be screened for dyslexia. Also, the adoption of Fundations® structured language program provides better support for all kids, but especially those with dyslexia.

3.4 percent pay raise and requirements for teachers pay increases based on experience.

Teachers receive credit for accepting school or district leadership positions. They continue to get credit for taking classes and earning advanced degrees.
